Predominantly BIPOC Survivor-Led and Survivor-Informed Organizations and Collectives
love WITH Accountability® affirms the urgent need to dismantle the U.S. criminal (in)justice system and abolish the prison-industrial complex. At the same time, we hold that every victim/survivor must choose the avenues that best support their healing and recovery.
We ask: Why is calling the police so often presented as the only response to violence, when many—especially those who are BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) —experience further harm when the criminal legal system is involved?
This page reflects a commitment to radical, humane, survivor-centered, and accountable responses to violence. The organizations and collectives listed below offer a range of approaches. Many are rooted in prison abolition and oppose police involvement altogether. Others work within existing conditions while also striving to create new, non-carceral possibilities for the future.
This is a curated, non-exhaustive list and is not regularly updated. No additional organizations or suggestions are being accepted.
